ETP Facility Inspected Using ROV

1. Operational Challenge

Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) contain corrosive acids, toxic industrial sludge, and hazardous chemical sumps where human diving is strictly prohibited.

2. Robotic Solution & Deployment

Deployed chemically retrofitted ROV Genesis into active ETP neutralization sumps, inspecting wall liners and submerged pipes without draining chemical liquids.

3. Technical Methodology

The ROV entered through access manholes, using chemically inert seals and tethers to log concrete liner corrosion and joint leakage.

4. Execution Workflow

1
Chemical seal prep and ROV tether shielding.
2
Lowering into active neutralization sump.
3
Inspecting acid-resistant floor liners and wall joints.
4
ROV chemical wash and decontamination upon retrieval.

5. Project Results & Impact

Inspected 3 active chemical sumps with zero plant downtime, identifying localized liner erosion for targeted patching during scheduled maintenance.
